Jumpstart Your Year-End Giving Campaign
These last five weeks of the year are critical for fundraising and account for 26–50% of most nonprofits’ annual funds. Fíontan Karin Tracy and Becca Sonnenklar from Classy collaborated on an engaging session for Salesforce.org during Week of Learning following Dreamforce ’22. Dive into strategies and techniques from which all fundraising nonprofits can benefit in this recorded session about managing mission-critical fundraising with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (formerly Pardot).

Isn’t It Ironic? Technology Can Help You Seem More Human to Giving Tuesday Donors
Never has a Giving Tuesday had a more primed audience. In 2020, despite the economic disruption caused by the pandemic, the number of Giving Tuesday donors increased by 29% over 2019, and donations increased by 25%. According to the M+R Annual Benchmarks Report, most email metrics, including open rates, click-through rates, response rates, and page completion rates, also went up in 2020, according to the M+R Annual Benchmarks Report.
Your organization can differentiate your Giving Tuesday campaign this year by simply behaving more humanly. It’s what everyone craves these days—more human connection. And isn’t it ironic? Technology can help you seem more human to prospective donors during the Giving Tuesday season.

Giving Thanks
The past three years have shown us that much of life is out of our control, but we remain grateful. As we begin dismantling holidays rooted in inequity and bigotry, we can choose to gather with loved ones and friends on Thanksgiving and spend quality time together and give back or perform impactful services within our community. The holiday season can be stressful, especially for those who experience food insecurity or are having trouble making ends meet. Luckily, it’s easier than ever to get involved locally by donating time, money, or goods through a community-based organization.
- Volunteer at your local food bank
- Donate gently used coats to a coat drive with One Warm Coat
- Deliver and/or sort meals with Meals on Wheels
- Organize a food drive
Fíontans love food – we even have a very active Slack channel dedicated to food! In the spirit of sharing, we’d like to share some employee favorites (including turkey and plant-based gravy recipes!)

Gratitude for Nonprofits: Make It a Weekly, Not Seasonal, Practice
As Thanksgiving approaches, gratitude is making its annual appearance in headlines and maybe even in your mailbox. We don’t mind jumping on this bandwagon because we all need the good feelings that gratitude inspires.
The season of Thanksgiving does bring out the best in us. But we know you appreciate your volunteers, donors, revenue partners, and other good-deed-doers throughout the year, not only in November. Yet, the nonprofit life tends to get in the way of good intentions. How can you cultivate a habit of organizational gratitude throughout the year?
