First, I want to congratulate Jordan and his wife on the birth of their baby boy! Jordan and I work hand-in-hand on many projects, and since our hard-hitting banter is well-known around the Fionta water cooler, I’m hoping I can fill his shoes here. I’ve been spending quality dad time with my 7-month-old daughter here in Portland, Maine, and it’s finally sweatshirt weather here, so everyone in this house is finally living their best fall-loving lives. This month’s update shows us news on Salesforce’s Nonprofit Trends Report, new functionality for managing picklists, and upcoming webinars.

WEEK OF LEARNING: Jumpstart your EOY giving campaign
Not to be entirely overshadowed by Dreamforce, Week of Learning – hosted by Salesforce – takes place the last week of September. Virtual attendees can learn new skills with the nonprofit and education community.

NONPROFIT TRENDS: Challenges and opportunities ahead
Salesforce is out with the results from their survey of over 1,200 nonprofit professionals. Still reeling from the effects of the pandemic, nonprofits have been able to sustain themselves through amending processes and pivoting to remote access for employees and donors alike. The good news, according to the report, is that nonprofits met “75% of their goals across program delivery, fundraising, diversity initiatives, and even staff wellbeing and retention.”
MANAGING PICKLISTS: To Picklist or … Not to Pick … List?
Salesforce Ben has a writeup and helpful videos around the Summer ’22 Release’s enhancements on picklists and multi-select picklists. In the spirit of increasing efficiency, it’s now easier to manage duplicate values and delete unused values, among other improvements. Also, always a good idea to take advantage of the trailheads for additional how-to lessons.
