NPSP to NPC Series #2 - Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Cohort: Data Audits, Prep, and Migration

In week two of Fíonta’s NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud webinar series, the focus shifted to data: how to audit it, prep it, and migrate it without dragging years of clutter into a new system. Fíonta’s Director of Data and Architecture walked through storage and usage audits, integration inventories, and report dependency checks, then moved into high level and detailed data mapping, using the “moving house” analogy to explain why not every field, pick list value, or legacy object deserves a spot in Nonprofit Cloud. A guest demo from Uniform for Salesforce showed how data profiling tools can cut migration scope dramatically (one nonprofit trimmed 539 fields down to 140 reliably used ones) by surfacing what’s actually current versus abandoned. Salesforce’s Maddie Earhart then demoed case management, action plans, referrals, and Nonprofit Cloud’s newly built in volunteer management, fielding audience questions on licensing, edition differences, and association use cases along the way. The session closed with a migration planning checklist and a preview of next week’s session with Sunny Wilkinson of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, who’ll share his own NPSP to NPC migration experience.
